HR-Internal Communications Examples

WSCU MyChoice Benefits

Goal: Online Guide to Employee Benefits

About This App:

As one of Canada's largest credit unions, Westminster Savings Credit Union is dedicated to providing full financial services to the residents of the Greater Vancouver area. And like most large companies, one of the pitfalls of having a large staff is that dissemination and retention of internal communication often goes flat. Many organizations spend a great deal of time and money in preparing documents, and as vital as the information may be, these documents are too robust and overwhelming to consume. Especially for today’s net savvy generation! The result is the same FAQ’s being asked, wasting precious HR resources when the information is already available in the document.

Employee self-service to information is where Interactive Video Apps really shine! And this WSCU App is no exception. WSCU managed to take some previously unread documents about employee benefits and turned it into an engaging, informative experience for their staff. The viewer consumes the information at their own pace with access to the information 24/7 meaning no work-time resources used up to view the App, and because of the inherent benefits of interactivity, the employees are more likely to retain the information contained in the videos. The other valuable piece to WSCU is that the App is fully trackable; meaning they are able to see the most popular topics, what areas employees kept coming back to, and which employees needed the most advice.

'Start With Why' is an intriguing business concept that has received a lot of buzz. There is much to tell and with so much great content in 'Start With Why', the Living Interview format provided a dynamic way for Simon to showcase this content.
